Meet the band!
-
David is a the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Shamrock and Sage. He is a Firefighter and EMT by trade, and has a love of everything Irish from the music, the landscapes, to the beer and people. He and his wife love traveling to Ireland whenever they get the chance.
-
When she’s not reading or writing poetry, Bethany loves spending her time with this rag tag team of musicians as she competes with Jeremy in hitting the highest notes (spoiler: Jeremy always wins). Ireland holds a very special place in her heart and she is so happy to have a place to share her love of this wonderful country and it’s music.
-
Every Irish band needs a tenor. And a fiddle for that matter. Jeremy provides both with the gracefulness one might expect from the member of the band voted most likely to be an elf.
-
Spoons. Enough said. Okay, there’s also her lovely alto voice, which when added to Bethany’s soprano has a profound impact on the flute player, so much so that he’s been known to drop his instrument once or twice in sheer astonishment at the beauty their voices create.
-
Ben has been playing piano for over 40 years. Unfortunately, he doesn't play piano with S&S; he plays bass and sings, both of which he started about 3 weeks ago. When he is not drinking his way through another Irish rebellion tune, Ben is a stay-at-home dad who also performs with several jazz and jazz-adjacent bands.
-
Don’t be fooled by his stoic demeanor in the back row. Dave is always having a great time as he drums along on the Irish bodhran, or hits the occasional triangle. The band would be rhythmless without him.
-
Flutes, whistles, and always ascribing to be more like Teresa and Bethany, Peter adds a little something special to the band. When we figure out what that is, we’ll put that here.
